A free account gives you full access — AI-written decks, cloud sync, and unlimited studying. No API key needed.
Preferences are saved in this browser.
Caps how many never-studied cards are introduced each day, so a big new deck doesn't bury you tomorrow. Cards you've already seen are never held back.
Optional — accounts already include AI generation. With your own key (create one at openrouter.ai → Keys), requests go directly from this browser, are billed to your OpenRouter account, and keep working past the fair-use limit.
Any OpenRouter model ID works — choose "Custom" to type one. Signed-in generation is limited to the app's supported models.
Describe what you want to study. The AI may ask a couple of questions before writing the cards.
Paste notes, a syllabus, or an article — the AI writes cards from what's actually in it.
The AI rewrites the deck to follow your direction. You can steer as many times as you like before saving.
Change the title, questions, answers, and notes. Nothing is stored until you save.
Sessions for this deck start flipped. Any single session can still be flipped from the study screen.
The AI can add cards or revise the whole deck in one pass. Progress on kept cards is preserved — review the result, then save.

Ready-made, accuracy-checked collections. Add one and it schedules like any deck you made yourself — and catalog updates never touch your study progress.
The short version: the AI writes your flashcards, and a spaced-repetition schedule tells you exactly when to review them.
Describe anything you want to learn — a topic, an exam, even pasted notes — and the AI writes a deck of flashcards. From there everything is deterministic: the app schedules each card so you review it right before you'd forget it. You only ever answer one question per card: did you get it right, or miss it?
Each card lives in one of five boxes. Answer it correctly and it moves up a box, waiting longer before its next review — 1, 2, 4, 8, then 16 days. Miss it and it drops back to Box 1 and comes around again in the same session. That's the whole system: cards you know drift up and get out of your way; cards you don't stay close.
Yes. A free account gives you full access — AI-written decks, cloud sync, and unlimited studying. Fair-use limits on AI generation exist purely to prevent abuse; you'll only hear about one if you ever approach it, and studying is never limited.
So your decks and progress live safely in your account in the cloud, instead of trapped in one browser's storage where clearing site data (or Safari's automatic cleanup) could erase them. The sample deck is free to try without one.
Study reviews what's due and updates the schedule. Practice all runs through every card in the deck without changing the schedule — cram as much as you like, your review plan stays intact.
Nothing in it is due — the deck shows when its next review lands. That's the schedule working, not a bug: reviewing early doesn't help memory, but Practice all is always there if you want the reps. Brand-new cards are also introduced at most a set number per day (Settings → "New cards per day") so a big new deck doesn't bury you tomorrow.

Export decks downloads everything — decks, groups, progress — as one JSON file. Import decks reads the same format, so a file is both a backup and a way to share decks with someone else.

Power users can plug in a personal OpenRouter key under Settings → Advanced. Requests then go directly from your browser, billed to your OpenRouter account, with any model you like — and generation keeps working even past the fair-use limit.
What you type into the AI flows (your prompts and pasted notes) is sent to the model to write your cards; your decks and review history are stored in your account. Signed out, everything stays in this browser. Fair-use limits cap only AI generation — never studying, manual editing, or sync — and reset daily.
